On their home turf of the Railway Hotel in Pontefract,
Railwaymen of Pontefract overcame a starting handicap of 19 points to 30 to defeat Rockin' Gladiators of Glasshoughton
to win the Handicap Cup for 2015. The match started off with the teams closely match, with 9-6 (RG), 8-8 and 7-4 (RM),
but at Round Four Railwaymen took the round heavily 11-2 and from that point never looked back, winning four of the next six
rounds and drawing the other two, to take the Handicap Cup by a final score of 102-82, which taking into account the starting
difference of 11, means that they won the quiz without handicaps by 31 points (83-52), no mean achievement. The Handicap
Cup Final was followed by the ever popular and now well-established FTQL Pairs competition, set and run by Committee member
Neil Aspland and which was won by the random pairing of John Seeley and Simon Curtis both of Flanagan's Masons.
Refreshments and a raffle took place and the trophies were presented to the winners.
