This, dear FTers and
FTesses, is the new 10 years of Eggheads book, published by Simon and Schuster and available in all good bookshops and bad
ones too. As you will no doubt be only too aware, own very own Mr B Simmons is one of said Eggys and is thus featured
in said book.
Now I wouldn't
normally be persuaded to part with money for a picture of Barry's fizzog but it was cheap in the Works and it was only
on having a quick flick (through the pages of the book dear reader), that I got what I have to concede was one of the pleasantest
surprises of my quizzing life when I discovered Barry's pages and no less than his list of proudest quiz achievements
et al. Those proud quiz achievements
appear to include his 6 FTQL league and cup doubles. A sincere thank you to Barry for thinking us important enough
to include.
I have to admit that this gives
me an enormous sense of pride, to think that this silly little local quiz league has apparently made its mark on the
anals of known quizzing and is now legitimised by appearing in this TV quiz show tie-in book.
